Wooden wicks sometimes take a little longer to light. Hold the lighter to the wick for a bit longer and ensure you light the entire length of the wick. Or perhaps you need to trim your wick from the previous burn.

It’s as simple as just breaking off the excess burnt piece with your fingers. After it has cooled down of course! You can also use a wick trimming tool, if you have one.

You most likely need to trim your wick. When there is too much burnt wick attached it will affect the burn. Wicks should be 1/4 inch long.
